Stuart Van Wagenen

Stuart Chase Van Wagenen is a full-time, independent, professional trustee and President and Founder of Stuart Chase Properties, Inc., a firm providing wealth management and trust services for high net worth families since 1986. As such, he serves as Trustee or counselor to wealthy families, family offices, and corporate boards, focusing on situations in distress or transition. His experiences include governance, mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcies, divorce, mediations, private equity, investment banking, money management, insurance, estate planning, tax, and investment policy and allocation. Investment experiences include hotels and other real estate, restaurants, oil and gas, private equity funds, technology and other start-ups, manufacturing, and various operating companies. Previously, Van Wagenen served as a director of ISCO International, an AMEX-listed wireless telecom hardware engineering firm, serving as Chairman of The Board of Directors from 2002 – 2006. He also chaired the Audit Committee, where he was the financial expert under SEC and AMEX rules, founded and chaired the Governance Committee, and served on the Compensation Committee. Currently, Van Wagenen serves on the board of directors of two non-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio: Judson Services, Inc.; and Sourcing Office, Inc., an Ohio Council of Governments, where he is Board President. He also serves on the President’s Club Advisory Board of The Ohio State University. Previous non-profit boards include Intermuseum Conservation Association, Western Reserve Historical Society, Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland, and Cleveland Grand Prix Charities. Van Wagenen received his B.A. from The Ohio State University (Honors College) and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He received his Certificate of Director Education from the National Association of Corporate Directors and attended the Private Wealth Management Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Van Wagenen and his wife, Ginger, live in Cleveland Heights. Ginger is a retired partner of ThompsonHine, LLP. They have three children: Jessica; Lauren; and Paul.
